Stall with judgements or get on with the systems?

It’s time to do something! You have learned about the Profit Equation, the 6 Profit Principles and the Season Plan. It all sounds straightforward right? Should be simple enough! Well actually it is, but this is the point when it is also easy to say “no thanks, I am staying right where I am.”

Why? Usually for one of four reasons:

  • Firstly, the outcome isn’t guaranteed. Many people want to be given all the answers, BEFORE anything is started. Fear and security are valued far higher than opportunity so often the secure status quo is chosen over the opportunity, even when it is causing pain, purely because the outcome is KNOWN AND FAMILIAR.
  • Secondly, it all appears too risky – especially when you have never thought or operated this way before. The new required actions may not be familiar. It can all look like extra work. Knowing everything about it would mean that you would have been doing it by now!
  • Thirdly, the desire for “something for nothing”. The preferred outcome or benefit may be wanted but there is no desire to pay the cost (new learning, thinking and actions) to get the benefit i.e. the cost is valued far more than the preferred outcome.
  • Lastly, as E N Gray wrote in his book, The Common Denominator of Success – “Successful people are influenced by the desire for pleasing results. Failures are influenced by the desire for pleasing methods and are inclined to be satisfied with such results as can be obtained by doing things they like to do.”

Acceptance of any of these 4 reasons is a direct result of hastily formed perceptions and judgements, prior to investigation. Let’s be honest - there is no cure for “something for nothing” or failure thinking, except decision and action based around a change of mindset and a genuine desire.

With apparent risk and lack of guarantees, why not reduce the risk and increase your chances of success? Here are some suggestions:

  • Do your research - get to know and understand people who have done what you want to do. Ask about talking with a GrowFARM client.
  • Back yourself to go beyond where you have ever been, and to achieve the result. If you don’t back yourself, who else will, or even can? Know that your GrowFARM coach will back you 100% if you decide to get started. Making the decision is a sign that you are backing yourself and we are only too willing to work with those who will do what it takes!
  • Get the overview of the system to gain confidence that you can do it. The system is proven and it works, if you work it. In this case, the system’s basics have already been handed to you through these articles but if you need further discussion contact Brendon.
  • Reserve full judgement on the outcome until you have created it yourself. It is not a smart move to leave an “out” in your mind which allows to you to easily let yourself off the hook, thereby justifying the “risk” and “lack of guarantee” fears you had in the beginning.

If nothing changes then nothing changes. It takes new actions to ultimately cause new outcomes and yes, you do have to go on faith to an extent. You just have to pay the cost to get (in this case) the exponential benefit. This can be challenging but know this; Action conquers fear, and voluntarily increasing your chances of success will improve your confidence anyway. It is up to you – but as Nike says: Just do it!”
