Excellence was the key theme of the 2010 GrowFARM Annual Conference held in Taihape. Attendees learned and discussed what it takes to step up as focussed Farm Business Owners who deliver results and go on to achieve what is most important to them.
The main sessions focussed on becoming disciplined people with disciplined thinking who take disciplined action to create these results - this is just the price of entry to the playing field of Farm Business Excellence. A visit to a local client’s farm business provided a practical example for attendees to share these ideas and to synergise on new opportunities for everyone.
Personal and business action plans were devised so attendees could hit the ground running on return to their businesses after the conference. The conference closed with Mel Croad from iFarm providing a focussed livestock market analysis and forecast. One of New Zealand’s favourite Olympic Gold Medallists – Rob Waddell (who grew up on his family drystock farm) – lent his experiences, expertise and wit on what it takes to achieve at the highest level. Focus, commitment, attention to detail and aggressive action to lift yourself out of the failure cycle were among the major points discussed. When Rob talks, believe me, you listen!
Spread among this was plenty of fun and challenge to top off a great 1 ½ days of phenomenal culture building, networking and learning.

Two meetings per year of regional client groups on a client's farm property for a half day, occurring each July and November.
The Regional Mastermind Meetings are generally more "within business" focussed and allow small group masterminding on vital issues and opportunities facing client businesses.
